Treacherous, Taylor Swift
Decided to listen to Taylor Swift’s new album, Red, and when I came across this song I couldn’t help but think it describes America&England when they realize their feelings about the other — how they know it’s treacherous to have those feelings given their history — but they can’t help but like it anyway.
“I’m not a perfect person
There’s many things I wish I didn’t do
But I continue learning
I never meant to do those things to you
And so I have to say before I go
That I just want you to know
I’ve found out a reason for me
To change who I used to be
A reason to start over new
And that reason is you”
Hoobastank, The Reason [USUK]
A song interpretation in which America does not want to hurt England, but has to go through with the emotional Revolutionary War to separate himself from the idealistic image England has made of him in his mind in order to grow and become a great being on his own.
